WPW shows promise and yet still manages to be a joke

Let me start first off, by saying that there were some pretty solid matches in WPW's PPV, "Rebirth". I liked the Rich Wright vs. Will Sachs and Tom Lyte vs. Bill Myer's matches especially. Out of the 4 in the match, I'd put my money on Tom Lyte and Rich Wright. Watch those guys, because I guarantee you that you're gonna see good matches out of them for years to come. Not to take anything away from Sach's or Myer's, they were both very good too.

Lucifer deserved better in an opening match on an opening PPV than a 3 minute squash match, even if he was delivering the squash. I've seen Lucifer work and I think most of the FWC would agree that he was one of the hottest possible free agents out there. You don't throw him in a three minute match in the opening pay per view. You lock him up with a Tom Lyte or a Matt Mercury and have them go 45 minutes. You show the crowd who Lucifer is. What did Lucifer gain from a 3 minute match? Next to nothing. No mic time. No anything. So right now we don't see any personality or any of his vast wrestling ability. I think this was a VERY poor start to the show.

I'm still trying to find out what the hell happened with Prisoner. I've met him a few times in the past and he's an okay guy. It seemed like it had to be a work, but was I the only one who noticed the X thrown up by the ref at the very end of the night? I think Prisoner may have been legitimately hurt. Not to mention, why did he stop contract negotiations with XWA? Doesn't make sense to me.

Vertigo's solid, but a little bit too much flash for me. Demin was solid too. I'd rank this the 3rd best match of the night though. Solid back and forth action and some generall stiff moves. Demin was real stiff. Looked pretty realistic for the most part.

I gotta admit I kinda liked the whole Dan Jekyl and Peter Hyde bit. I'm wondering if they're gonna just start calling Dan Jekyl, Jekyl a la Dave Batista. Mercury should have gotten a better match then this too. They wanted to show off a brute though. At least he got some time to show off his speed. I'll be watching Jekyl to see what goes on with him.

If I had to rank, the Rich Wright and Will Sachs match was 2nd best of the night. It's just personal preference. I preferred the technical aspect of the Tom Lyte vs. Bill Myer's matches just slightly more than the occasional kick boxing technique used by Sachs. Both were great matches though.

So we get to see another squash when Bane destroys Sonio. Bad booking. Cancer vs. Bane was solid but should have been longer and Bane should have been knocked down a bit more. See, you have Bane be tested solidly in the first 2 matches so when he gets to the third match he's tired and hurting. Then you see how much of a monster he is when he still manages to take out the third competitor. All I saw was 2 wrestler's not fit to carry Bane's jock-strap.

I was kinda surprised to see Two Tyme be the main wrestler Bane took on. It was solid, but nothing jumped out at me. Not the best way to end the PPV honestly. So those are my opinions of the matches. Now to talk about what I thought was just laughable.

I'm as much a advocate of more wrestling then promo's than anyone, but you gotta be kidding me on the complete and utter lack of development of ANYONE. First of all, we weren't introduced to ANY other wrestler's in WPW to look forward to. All we know are the wrestler's we saw and the promise that there are more to follow.

There's gotta be some happy medium between wrestling and character development. The reason I've managed to succeed so well is because I'm well known. I developed who I was in XCW as I showed off my talent. Not one wrestler has differentiated themselves as a character, with the exception of maybe Bane, Tom Lyte (and by circumstance, Jekyl), in the entire league. You have to give me more then that. You have to give me something to look forward to.

So when's the next PPV? What's the next event period? Who can I expect to see?

There's no build-up for any of this, so why should any of us even look into buying whatever comes around next?

The bottom-line is, WPW had a solid PPV which could have been infinitely better. Better booking WPW. You gotta get better booking or you're always gonna be in the Xtreme's shadows, no matter how hard you try and distance yourself from them.

So many unanswered questions..

I'm back. I apologize for my extended absence, but it couldn't really be helped. Well it could I suppose, but I was grieving. James funeral was as nice as a funeral could be. What was even nicer is the turnout. There was over 100 wrestling personalities (including wrestlers from XWW, XCW and XWA as well as announcers, scouts, etc) as well as fans who turned out to offer their last respects. It seems like I miss James more and more each day.

Kip and Bret had a match over the weekend for James. Kip's not supposed to wrestle because of his back. He did, for James. Kip won, but lost his career. After the match, through tears, my good friend Kip "the Machine" retired from wrestling due to lower back problems. It was a hell of a match that I wish I could have been involved in. It went 47 minutes and both Bret and Kip showed the absolute best of themselves. Honestly, it was the best match I've seen so far this year. It was so phenomenal to see the emotion and chemistry those two displayed. A shame Kip's now done with wrestling forever. He gave his heart and his back up the other night. But I guarantee you he walked out with his head held high, albeit his heart heavy.

For the first time since the announcement was made, I'm going to address this "WPW" issue. I'm gonna start with the most obvious statement possible: The former owner of XCW and current owner of WPW is the biggest pile of shit I've ever known in my life. The funny this is, though, I didn't really know him. This guy is one of those pricks who thinks he's too good for anyone to ever meet him. He never once met with me. Any talks that went to me came through scouts and talent agents. As far as I know, he never has shown his face to anyone. Honestly, I'd rather he never showed his face again. Or better yet, I wish he'd show his face to me so that I could bloody it up a bit. This guys is one of the slimiest, underhanded, low-life scumbags I've ever been associated with.

Let me be the first to tell you that I'm actually one of the XCW wrestler's who does NOT have a limited compete clause. I managed to work that out after I had been signed on a year. My extension came with a clause of it's own in which case if I was ever left out of work for any reason then I could sign on with another company. So, WWE trying to sign me was completely legit and I could have if I wanted to. However, the majority of XCW wrestler's, and quite a few of them are my friends, are not in that boat. As much as I hate the idea of a bunch of good solid wrestler's not being able to practice their trade to the utmost degree, there's a bigger issue here.

That issue is the apparent collapse of XCW. So you mean to tell me that XCW is simply gone because this ass wants it to be? All the fans, all the wrestler's, all the insiders... everyone who was waiting and hoping for the ultimate return, are instead going to be introduced to some unsung league while XCW lays by the wayside so that the money hungry owner can continue to increase his wealth from merchandise sales? This makes me absolutely sick.

Don't get me wrong... I love to see new companies come up with the ability to push good talent to the moon which there's never a lack of. But the blatant disrespect is too much to handle. You're only taking one XCW wrestler? Bane? You're taking Bane? This guy spent 3 months in XCW, and while he was dominant and a force... how is he even worth consideration for this? This is a joke. So is WPW.

Plenty of people are actually planning on striking this. I've heard XCW former wrestler's and fans. The ppv is tomorrow, but I won't be making the trip. I'll see what it has to offer, mainly because I'm a fan of wrestling. But no matter what happens, WPW will never ever be a good substitute for XCW.

My next wrestling match is Monday against Mr. H.M. Chan.

I'm gonna pretend he's the XCW former owner. And I might just really hurt him.

My heart feels so heavy..

It’s not every day where you feel like Shaq ripped out your heart and used it as a hacky-sack. Unfortunately, that’s what yesterday turned out to be.

I got a call around 2 p.m. yesterday from Doreen Gregory to tell me that one of the people I was closest to in the industry had passed away. Yesterday, James Gregory passed away due to heart failure.

I’ve been lucky in life thus far, as I haven’t ever had to deal with too much emotional trauma caused by loss. My great grandmother died when I was 4, so I was too young to remember it. My grandparents on my father’s side passed away 3 years apart when I was in my teens, but they lived on the East Coast while I was in San Francisco so I didn’t see them much. When I was a teen 2 of my uncles died but I didn’t know either of them very well either. A few gerbils and goldfish didn’t live long either. But this… this was different.

Once I got over the initial shock and convinced myself that this was reality and Doreen wasn’t crying on the phone to me as a joke, I broke down myself. All I could think about is how I’d never be on the road with him again. How he’d never call me at 4 in the morning to take a late night run to Denny’s. How I’d never walk into my dressing room to find all my ring attire had been stolen and replaced with a size more fitting for him. And I admit without a bit of hesitation, that I bawled my eyes out. Doreen and I sat on the phone unable to say anything for a solid 10 minutes.

After I finally got off the phone with Doreen, I started thinking and realized how difficult this would be for everyone. This wasn’t just about me losing one of my best friends; this was about everyone losing a really great man. James’s kids, Megan and Joshua, are still so young (7 and 12 respectively) and they won’t be able to live the rest of their life with their father. It really is unfair that now when James was finally done with the wrestling lifestyle and could actually spend time with his family, he wasn’t going to get a chance to. And Doreen, Doreen who had stood by James through his whole life in wrestling. Who had waited patiently for the day when he would step down and start his life completely with her, had all that taken away from her. We’ve all lost one of the greatest men I’ve ever met in my life.

Out of all the people who knew James best, I’d say I was up there as being of his best friends. His best was easily the Machine. Those two were damn near inseparable in the back and when they got together, you knew something was going to happen to someone. I remember one specific instance in particular.

Carnage had just come into XCW and he was kinda… well, let’s say he was cold to most people in the back. We know now that he wasn’t trying to be an ass, it was just his demeanor. I don’t think James and Kip cared either way, because they made it their mission to break the rookie in. James’s main goal in most of his pranks was embarrassment. I think it might have been because it was impossible to embarrass James and so he had some sort of fascination with making people feel that way. So when Kip and James had a target, they played this little game where they would one-up each other to see who could be more creative with the embarrassment.

So Kip started off calling a florist and having flowers delivered to Genocide in Carnage’s name. You shoulda seen the way Carnage stammered when Genocide asked him if this meant Carnage was coming onto him. Next, Assassin ordered a few dirty magazines and had them delivered to the GM of the company at the time under Carnage’s name. At this point Carnage had no idea what was going on and couldn’t figure out who was doing these things to him. The next prank was Kip’s turn. Now this prank needs a little back story.

About a month into Carnage being with the company, we realized he had a daily routine. An hour before his match he would go to the food display and eat one piece of each fruit (grapes he ate handful) and chug a bottle of water. Immediately afterwards he would go into the bathroom followed by dressing for his match. Well, as soon as Kip saw Carnage go to the fruit table, he ran to the bathroom doors and switched the women’s and men’s label. Perhaps any other day Carnage would have walked in and no one would have been in there and he could’ve gotten away unscathed so to speak. That day, fate intervened. That day, Carnage walked in on 3 girls half naked changing. Unfortunately I wasn’t there that day, but onlookers said Carnage’s face when he exited the bathroom was priceless. Well, then it became James’s turn. And James’s prank ended it all.

This prank was a bit premeditated. James’s has a good friend who’s a police officer in Charlotte. So we were down around the area for a show and James had his buddy drop by asking for Carnage and eventually asking him real vague questions such as “Where were you 2 weeks ago?” and “Have you ever seen this woman in your life?” and showing Carnage a picture of a woman Carnage had never seen in his life. The cop ended the conversation by telling Carnage they’d be in touch. About 3 weeks later the guy showed up with a few buddies dressed as cops and, in front of the whole locker room, proceeded to cuff Carnage. They checked his things and found a picture of the girl in Carnage’s luggage (courtesy of the Assassin). It wasn’t until they put Carnage in the car till the James admitted through the window it was him and they let Carnage out. To Carnage’s credit, he took it well.

James later took Carnage out for dinner and drinks on him. That was how they sort of broke him into the league. And that was how James was. He’d rib on you but then be the must stand-up guy in the world. And he’d have your back no matter what. And it wasn’t just XCW. He was the type of guy who made friends everywhere he went. It was nuts how many people he claimed he knew, which at this point I’m inclined to believe him. In addition to the XCW roster, he claimed to be friends or on good terms with: Kurt Stone, Shadow, Kage Stevens, Whiplash, Solstice, Kale Calloway, Hitman, James Moore, Anxiety, UWJ, Samoa Joe, AJ Styles, Brian Danielson etc. It went on and on. The guy just made friends everywhere he went… he was that type of guy.

In the ring, James made the best out of his size. He was quick and smart in the ring. I got in the ring with him once and I’m now glad I got at least that one time, because at the time he was a vet and I was still up and coming. I believe you can learn something from anything, and James taught me that it didn’t matter how big you were as long as you could put on a believable match. And we did. He even let me go over him, by tapping to the crossface. James was only 36.

I lost a good friend on Wednesday, January 16th, 2008. This world lost a great man. And even now, I can’t put into words exactly what everyone’s lost.

I’ll miss you friend. I’m gonna miss you with everything in my heart. And for the first time ever, Moore isn’t better. James is better.

Goodbye old friend.

James “the Assassin” Gregory R.I.P December 1963-January 2008.

So wait wait wait.. What is gonna happen 1-20-08?

Hey all, Alex Moore back again with another blog. Again, I have managed to somehow not post in days. A quick update before I get into the meat of my post, about my match with Masuka Takahashi.

Of course, as you all should have assumed by now, I defeated Masuka. Just like damn near everyone I've ever faced, I made Masuka tap out to the crossface. But not before I took a few solid kicks to the head. Nonetheless, after being a little sore, I came out the victor and proved again why I am the best damn wrestler out there today. People can discuss, people can argue but the fact is there is NO one in this business who consistantly puts out good matches AND beats his opponents like Alex Moore. There's a reason why Moore is Better: Because Moore is the best. But, before I being to toot my own horn too much, I wanted to talk about 1-20-08.

After talking with Marcus Tibbs and scanning different musings among the internet, it seems like many people have come to the conclusion that XCW's owner is trying to subtley tell us something. On the back of the envelope addressed to Marcus which I think everyone knows about by now, there was a code that read as this - !@)@))*. Most people online are speculating that it means a date. 1-20-2008.

That's this Sunday for all of you curious. I'll tell you right now, I'll be thoroughly pissed if Sunday comes and there's some last show for everyone from XCW. I haven't heard a damn thing from anyone, and as far as I know, no one I know has either. So what the hell else could this date mean? There's this huge build up for something we don't even know about, that might not even happen. You think it'll be a slap in the face if XCW does a show without me? You're damn right it would be.

During my time in XCW I was 4th in merchandise sales behind Genocide, Double A and Blade. I was undefeated for over a year and put on 5 MOTYC candidates. So to say it's a slap in the face to be overlooked on something so huge is an understatement to say the least. You know what else? Part of me was holding off on going to any large federation just because I was hoping XCW was going to make some sort of a revival. That's not to say what I said about my refusal of the WWE contract is untrue, because it's completely true, but XCW always factored slightly into me taking a contract to wrestle for one company.

So where does this leave me? Fuck, I don't even know. But I'll tell you what. If January 20th comes and XCW puts out some sort of send-off show and I don't even get any word or acclaim, you know what?

Well, you just might see Alex Moore in an XWW ring making that little bitch Keiland tap the fuck out.

Ring rust? Never heard of it

I'd just like to say that DAMN it felt good to get back in the ring yesterday against Chuck Rollins. Fans seemed to be into the match too, even got some Moore is Better chants going, which made me wonder if I've somehow managed to become a face despite my always unplesant demeanor towards the fans. Well.. at least in character.

It was around seventeen minutes. Not exactly a long match by my standards, but long enough to tell a pretty good story. Give props to Chuck, he did fairly well trying to compete against a LEGEND, but in the end he just couldn't put me down. Oh and by the way, would someone let Chuck know that I'm not paying his doctor bills? That's the risk you run when you put your arm out there for me to put down. But don't worry, tapping to my crossface doesn't hurt your reputation at all. Everyone taps to it.

So I have Masuka Takahashi up next, on Sunday in Ft. Lauderdale. I'll tell you what, as much as I'm looking forward to wrestling again, I'm not looking forward to getting kicked by that guy. That's okay, though, because when the match is over and it's all said and done, I'm still gonna be the guy with his arm raised in victory. He can kick all he wants, it's his shoulder that I want. Let this be a fair warning to Masuka now: Watch yourself. Because Sunday I'm bringing my A game and putting you down.

This is a short blog for now, just mainly a run down of the match and upcoming match. Watch out kids, the Moore man is BACK.

Fan mail from an 8 year old

I had a bit of a hiatus there from the blog, as I've gotten fairly busy over the Christmas and New Year holiday. I'm so loved, that it's hard to tear myself away from legions of fans sometimes. But, I digress. In any event, onto the topic at hand.

I often get email and fan mail from different people telling me how wonderful I am. Sometimes I get something slightly different though. Well, I got a particularly amusing piece of email over the holiday and decided to publish it here in my blog and take a look at the points made. So here it is:

Alex,

U talk a lot of trash wen you're wrestlin ppl. u only win by cheatin tho. and ur not even xciting in tha ring. these guys - Rey Misterio, Klash, AJ Stiles, Chris Sbin - they r who u should watching. shootin star press is exciting. crossface is not. u need to add more flips and twists into ur moves if u wanna be good as tehm. srsly, think about. u do have a nice finisher but if you wan to make big u gotta be able to do top rope moves. i don't even c u go there, r u afraig of heights? ok, well watch those and tell me they r not awesome. i like others to but watch them first then ill tell u more to watch. bye.

Wally

p.s. kiks are good to. like loki or tajiri. it hurt if u kick hard so u should try and kick hard.

Needless to say, this email stood out to me. I don't know if it was the eloquence or wonderful opinions, but it spoke to me. Before I could do anything, though, I had to convert this strange language to English. This is what I came up with:

Alex,

When you're wrestling with someone, you often say disparaging things to them. I believe that you cannot win unless you somehow break the rules. It is also my opinion that you don't do enough career threatening, flashy moves. These guys- Rey Mysterio, Klash, AJ Styles, Chris Sabin - are who you should be watching if you wish to improve upon your style. The shooting star press, while really adding nothing to the actual impact of the move, us truly breath-taking to view. Your crossface is not so breath-taking, although it does look like it truly hurts. In my humble opinion, if you use more flips and twists when you wrestle, you'll add more of a devastating impact to your already devastating moves. I think you should put some serious thought into what I've said. The Alexcution is possibly the most devastating move known to man, but you may want to consider adding in some sort of top rope suicide dive for the hell of it. I never see you on the top ropes, perhaps you're scared that you may take a nasty spill and subject yourself to more wrestling absences? So, go ahead and watch the wrestler's I've named and tell me that you don't think they're amazing. I like many other wrestler's too of course, but as to not bog you down with too much right now, just watch those and perhaps later I can tell you more to watch. Farewell.

Waldo

p.s. Kicks look like they hurt quite a bit as well. Kicks from wrestler's such as low ki or tajiri. I've been kicked many times in my head and can tell you it hurts quite a bit, so you should try and add that to your already vast repertoire.

I think a few thousand of my brain cells died just reading that garbage. I just have to believe that either this person was 8 years old, or was very high/drunk during the writing of this. First let me complain about the internet which has made it popular to shorten words such as you or are or apparently "seriously". So essentially what we've managed to do, is make our already lazy society even MORE lazy. Well, despite the horrid grammar and spelling, I have to also point out his horrid opinion. And now we'll segway into what this genius referred to as "exciting":

Now, I'm not going to knock that style of wrestling of lots of spots at all. As a matter of fact, Klash, one of my favorite people to wrestle often incorporates this type of high energy high impact offense, often using the ropes to spring himself around. My main issue is the idea that you have to incorporate flips, twists and tops rope maneuvers to be "exciting". If you're telling a story and you can work those things into a match, than do it. But as with everything, we're trying to tell a story and sometimes it just doesn't fit the match.

Let me give a vague example. Say wrestler 1 hits wrestler 2 with a powerbomb, laying him out. Wrestler 1 then takes his time going up to the top rope to an attempt a top rope maneuever, which he connects with. The time it takes for Wrestler 1 to go to the ropes, climb the ropes, pose for a moment, then jump off and connect is probably what? 20 seconds? What happened to that guy laying on the mat? He can kick out at 2 1/2, but can't move out of the way when laying on the ground for 20+ seconds. What kind of realism are we adding to the event when things like this go on? If he stays down for that long, Wrestler 1 should just go for the pin.

Now, that's not to say top rope moves should not be used, but I think they should be used in smart situations. Waiting for the guy to stumble up to his a missile dropkick or flying clothesline is much more realistic and makes more sense. Or you both get caught up there, you shove him off and hit a top rope move. That makes sense. He was only on the ground for a few moments so it's easier to see why he couldn't roll out of the way.

Each style is different, and my style just happens to be more hard-nosed technically sound wrestling. Can I do those things? Absolutely. Will I do those things? Maybe once in a while when it fits the match, but I like the way I do things more. Hell, Moore is better after all.

I wish I could make this post longer, but I'm excited to say I have a match in five hours! I'm already pumped, so I'm going to have to cut this thing short. I'm wrestling a guy named Chuck Rollins. I've seen some of his work and he's pretty solid. He'll be a good wrestler when he gets some years under him.

Too bad tonight he's gonna tap out.

WWE wants my services? Sorry, not today.

Here I am, back on the blog scene. Let me first say that I'm impressed with the popularity my blog hit already, as my email's have blown up since my first post yesterday. Just for the fans who don't know it, it's Mooreisbetter727@yahoo.com. I'll try and answer some as well as address some here on my blog. Anywho, moving along..

I think what everyone truly wants to know, is why the man of the hour, Alex Moore, turned down a lucrative WWE deal. Let me get one thing out of the way: I respect WWE as an organization and think the world of them when it comes to catapulting wrestling to another level and making it mainstream. But, let me also say that somewhere WWE lost sight of what they actually are, which is a WRESTLING ORGANIZATION and became something different. As Paul E. once said in one of my favorite promo's ever, "We need sports ENTERTAINMENT hahaha".

The fact is, I did think really hard about whether or not I wanted to join WWE. You look at that much money on the table and honestly how can you say no? To be forthcoming, they offered me a 6 year deal worth 125,000 per. I was incredibly flattered and honored to ever be offered that by the biggest Wrestling company to ever grace the world. Now you gotta ask, why I would turn something such as this down? Why would the man who's quite possibly the best technical wrestler alive today, turn down a contract to wrestle on the most prostigeous company to ever grace the world? Simple. I'll explain the process:

I got a call from an agent sometimes in October. They told me they had seen my work, and were very interested in enlisting my services. The funny thing is, now they start praising my work, going as far as telling me I'm the best they've ever seen. Now, while I'm sure this is quite true, I also know it's embellishment to sway me towards a positive reaction. At this point, I'm liking the idea honestly. So I was invited to a show and shown around backstage. Now I'll admit, the experience was great. I loved meeting with so many wrestlers I hadn't before and being backstage at such an amazing venue.

I even got to meet Vince McMahon, which was pretty cool honestly. The guy's pretty down to earth in real life. He told me he liked my work and would love to see me in a WWE ring, which I agreed with at the time. So we shook hands and agreed to keep contact.

Two days later I got a call from a rep. Honestly, I was CLOSE to signing a contract at that point. But I tried to be rational and talk to the rep in that way. That's when everything went downhill. The rep essentially told me the angle they wanted me to work and let me explain it from his point of view:

You're gonna have it made Alex. We're gonna bring you in as a ring technician. You're gonna be a guy who follows the rules and the fundamentals of wrestling to an absolute T (okay, sounds good to me so far). But here's the thing, something offhand will cause you to lose everytime. Someone'll cheat here. You'll get distracted by the slight miscount by the ref there. Just little things. And we're gonna have you lose the first 5 matches or so. It's gonna be good for the fans, because we're gonna bring you out as a hardcore heel, someone who is hated. We see how good you are at that and we want to harness it.

Okay, I tried to understand the part and get past it. I asked, are you saying that fundamentals and ring awareness is something that's hurting me? I don't really get it.

What they told me, was that it had nothing to do with how good I was. It had to do with how the fans perceived me and this way we could build me up as a huge heel which honestly I didn't see. I told the guy that I could somewhat see the scenario working if I was established, but bringing me right in with a WWE crowd (which let's face it, it's not a normal wrestling crowd) and running this scenario would kill any credibility I ever had. He told me to sleep on it because they wanted an answer soon.

Here's my mindset. I believe fully, that they were going to push me somewhere just for the simple fact that you don't give someone a 6 figure contract unless you plan to make something out of them. But after looking at what they had to say and where they were gonna put me, I just didn't feel it was in my best interest, as a wrestler, to accept that.

At the end of the day, everyone's gotta look out for their own best interest. Money means nothing to me. Good wrestling and compelling storylines are what drives me at this point. At the end of the day I have to be satisfied with myself and the work I put out there. Going to WWE I was giving up a lot of my independance. I was giving up my Indy's, my name, and my schedule. And for what? More money? Sorry more may be better, but in this instance Moore was not satisfied.

I have tons of respect for WWE and hope they continue on their way, but let's be honest: Alex Moore does not fit in a WWE ring. Odds are, he never will.

In any event, I'm doing my thing.. working the scene, and I'm happy. To me, this is what wrestling is about. Yeah, I turned down a WWE contract. But I'm not gonna let that one decison define me. I'm gonna let my matches and shows define me. I'm gonna let you, the fans, define me. I'm gonna let anyone who wants to watch me and enjoy what I bring to the table, define me.

But damned if I'm gonna be something I'm not.

Beginning

OH no, could it be? The master of the ALEXCUTION has actually found his way onto the internet. In blog form no less. I can feel the excitement exuding from all my followers reading this right now. Take heart in knowing that while you may not be able to see me on TV every week like once before, now you'll be able to read things coming straight from my very own twisted head. What's that you say? Life, while not fair to have taken away your legendary hero, has perhaps thrown you a bone and given you back some reason to live? Understandable. I'll try and update this daily, to make sure I keep those trigger happy fingers at bay.

Let's get the formalities out of the way immediately. Yes, this is the very own Alex Moore typing this. I don't have a ghost writer or something along those lines writing this out for me for any of you skeptics out there. Anything you read from this blog from here on out, comes straight from my mind and heart. Sometimes I'll be writing while on a plane. Sometimes maybe it'll be right before I wrestle a match. Sometimes it'll be while I'm in a hotel room. Who knows when and where I'll be blogging from. As a matter of fact, I think I'll make note of where I am whenever I blog here. At least a general idea so that all of you people can envy me and such.

I'm going to point out right now, though, that what I say in this blog may incite people sometimes. I'm not about giving the good but not the bad. This is my blog and if you don't like what I have to say then quite frankly, I don't care. You don't have to read it. See that's one of the wonderful things about the internet. If you don't like what you read, there's this little X in the top right hand corner of the screen and you're more then welcome to left click on it.

The fact is, for anyone with a half a brain, you'd realize that the Wrestling business is not all peaches and cream. To start, I try and keep up as much as I can with the Xtreme's and other federations as well as fellow wrestlers. But when things like what happened with Harris happen, I just have to shake my head. But you, as fans, have to realize that this is the nature of the business. Harris went out probably thinking "I'm gonna have a ton of beers, and go pass out". I know Harris. The guy's a straight shooter and in honor of him, I'm gonna straight shoot when I talk about him. That thing that Harris and so many other wrestlers do, where they go to a bar and drink after shows; it's unneccessary. There's been plenty of times I've seen wrestler's from all different federations come in after a night of binge drinking and try and put on a show at only 80%. Or 50%. Or whatever they're feeling like at that particular moment. You know what though? That's a smack in the face to every ticket holder and fan of yours that wanted to see you go at 100%.

Look at it this way, say you pay $50-150 for a show. You have your huge foam finger. You got your favorite wrestler's t-shirt. You're hugging his action figure while sitting on his seat cover and sipping pepsi from a mug with his face on it. This guy is your hero. This is the moment you're waiting for. His music hits and everyone in the arena explodes. Your heart is pumping just to get a glimpse of him. You see him come down the ramp, hit the ring and you're begging for him to pound on his opponent. So what do you get? You get a guy who half-asses it. You get a guy who drank so much the night before that he's a little lethargic. Maybe doesn't take his bumps as hard. Maybe doesn't follow through on his clotheslines quite as clean. So what do you get? You get less then what you paid for.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not singling out Harris at all. I just wanted to bring him up and segway into this particular topic, which I think I've done nicely.

The problem with the Wrestling industry is such a huge roll partying plays in the scene. You gotta realize, we're damn near rockstars out there. We're noticed anywhere we go. If I left my house (where I am now recouperating for the next week) right now and went down the street to the corner store, I guarantee you I'll be stopped by at least 5 people. You think that's any different if you go to a bar? Not even. I went to a bar one time to celebrate Klash's birthday and was offered multiple drinks from regular bar patrons just for being me. I don't drink and I understand that everyone wants to be the guy that offered the wonderous Alex Moore a drink, but this is what we get every time we go out. So of course guys are gonna party and have fun. My main complaint, is when it effects what you do in the ring.

Guys tell me "Look, this is my free time and I want to enjoy it". Completely understandable. But don't let it affect the people who pay their hard earned money to watch you. After all, where would you be right now if not for them? You'd be wrestling in someone's backyard, that's where. And it's a shame too, because there's so many guys out there that have a ton of talent and are held back because they're lazy or they drink too much or they're slightly out of shape. This is a business and if you want to get ahead you have to treat it like it's your life. That's just how it is. Maybe it's different for me because Wrestling IS my life. I haven't wrestled in almost two weeks now and I'm starting to get a little antsy.

Just to fill everyone in, I had a slight ankle sprain in my match vs former XWA star James Moore (which might I add, I won) that needed a little rest. So I took the last couple of weeks off to recover. And I'm going fucking bonkers being cooped up in my house. But good news, the ankle is all better. I can run on it without feeling any pain. I'm ready to hit the ring. I've stayed in shape by doing other regimens mainly weight training. January 3rd I work a Indy show in Pennsylvania and that following Saturday, the 6th, I'm actually wrestling Masuka Takashai in Ft. Lauderdale. I'm excited to get back in the ring. Although I'm not looking forward to the sore-ness I'll feel after Masuka gets his hands (and feet) on me.

I think this is a nice long blog for my first post so I'll leave it here. But make sure you check up on this thing periodically as I'll be updating.

Oh and my next post will be about why the great Alex Moore turned DOWN a 6 figure WWE offer just recently. So stay tuned, because you'll all want to read about that. Trust me.
